The Consolidated Grant is the means through which public school districts may obtain federal funding through the Wyoming Department of Education. The application requires districs to think in integrated ways in which it will use federal funds to supplement other resources. The consolidated grant consists of: Title I, Title IIA, Title IID, Title IV, Title V, IDEA, VI-B 619 PRESCHOOL grants. The idea is that if these grants are consolidated, it wil encourage cross-program coordination, planning and service delivery. With the exception of Title I schoolwide Programs, individual requirements for specific funds still apply, and program budgets must be tracked separately.
Title I Schoolwide programs
To become a Schoolwide Program the LEA must determine that the particular school's poverty level is at or above 40%. At Arapahoe we have utilized our Free and Reduced lunch elegibility numbers (95%+) to determine our status. As a Schoolwide Program Arapahoe, has great latitude in how to spend program funds. A schoolwide program does not have to conform to the requirements of each seperate program as long as the intent and purpose of those programs are met.
